  5. member of Chicago's Austin High School Gang; in Chicago. Like
  6. Coleman Hawkins, Freeman was one of the most influential tenor
  7. saxmen of the '20s and '30s. Among his most popular recordings
  8. were The Eel and Crazeology, which was the title of his 1989
  9. memoir.
